Swiss Government

Swiss Government Report on the Fight Against Terrorism
The Swiss Government released this report on December 19, 2001, in response to a request made in Resolution 1373 of the UN Security Council, which was unanimously adopted on 28 September 2001.

Swiss Neutrality in Practice - Current Aspects
This report provides an analysis of Swiss neutrality as it was practiced in the 1990s, giving particular attention to the experiences of the 1998/99 Kosovo conflict. The report presents the most recent developments in international neutrality law as well as the way in which it has been practiced by Switzerland and other neutral European states in relation to participation in international coercive actions.

Switzerland's Foreign Policy Report, 2000
In this Report, the Federal Council outlines Switzerland's foreign policy objectives. The Report was approved by the Swiss people and the cantons together with the new Federal Constitution on 18 April 1999.

Peace Policy Brochure: Preventing Conflicts - Building Peace - Strengthening Democracy
This brochure aims to illustrate how the Political Affairs Directorate formulates its civilian peace policies, which geographical and thematical priorities it considers and where it sees future challenges.

Organizations and Research Institutes

The Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP)
GCSP is an international foundation created under the framework of Swiss participation in the Partnership for Peace. The GCSP website contains an extensive links library tailored to the needs of scholars and policy professionals working in the field of Security Policy.

Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD)
GICHD supports Humanitarian Mine Action through operational assistance and research and promotes the implementation of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention. 
 

Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF)
DCAF was established as an initiative of the Swiss government. The Center encourages and supports States and non-State governed institutions in their efforts to strengthen democratic and civilian control of armed and security forces. 

Swisspeace
Swisspeace is a research institute in the area of conflict analysis and peacebuilding. Swisspeace researches the causes of wars and violent conflicts, develops tools for early recognition of tensions, and formulates conflict mitigation and peacebuilding strategies.

Centre for Comparative and International Studies (CIS) 
CIS is a research center in the fields of comparative politics and international relations based in Zurich. It is run jointly by the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich.
