Security in a World of Conflict: Needs and Strategies in International Policing

Lessons in international policing continue to be learned, yet they are not applied. Instead of adopting a long-term, multi-stage vision based on past experiences, ad-hoc, reactive and short-term strategies tend to be used. This conference discussed needs and strategies in international law enforcement today.

Keynote Address: Richard Monk, Director and Senior Police Advisor to the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE); discussant: Robert M. Perito, Iraq Experience Project, United States Institute of Peace.
