The IMF - Walking the Tightrope of Crisis Prevention

Preventing crises is cheaper than picking up the pieces. Does the IMF have the right instruments? Can the IMF prevent financial crises such as in Argentina or Turkey? To what extent do politics influence IMF policy?

The Swiss Foundation for World Affairs hosted a seminar to examine these questions with Dr. Fritz Zurbrugg, Executive Director, International Monetary Fund, for Azerbaijan, Kyrgyz Republic, Poland, Serbia and Montenegro, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
