Memo to the Next President: Some Thoughts from Friends and Allies
 

Five distinguished European panelists joined Chester Crocker, James R. Schlesinger Professor of Strategic Studies at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, to discuss a broad range of issues where American policy decisions greatly affect the world across the Atlantic. Among those issues were the War on Terror, the Arab-Israeli conflict, the reconstruction of Iraq, Iran and North Korea's nuclear ambitions and the world economy.

Conference participants included Jacques Andreani, former Ambassador of France to the United States; Edouard Brunner, former Ambassador of Switzerland to the United States; Sir Brian L. Crowe, former Director-General for External and Politico-Military Affairs in the EU Council of Ministers (UK); Dieter Dettke, Executive Director of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (Washington, DC Office).
